The World Burns

Last night, the world started burning and no one came to put out the fire.

We watched the murder of George Floyd in broad daylight. Perpetrated by the police.

People are done.

Done being targets because of the color of their skin.

Done with police being handed a "get out of jail free" card repeatedly, while the innocent are stomped on and driven into the earth.

Maybe it's time the world burned.

But now, I'm so very sad.

The action has begun. But that action is one of violence and destruction

where only love and compassion will actually work.

Are we watching the dissolution of our humanity?
